THIS IS GREAT!! I have started to use the private rubbish collection service and it is going very well. Rubbish is collected every day from your house for a mere 50le a month. Come on guys thats only the cost of a couple of drinks to have a clear mind that its not your rubbish blowing in the streets and into the sea. If you are worried about collection times or if you will not be at home at the collection time between 5-6pm, you can always do what we have done in our house which is to buy a wheelie bin from the kitchen shop in Asalah and put it outside locked to your gate or wall or whatever so it does not disappear. The bin was 210 LE but maybe if a bunch of people want to order them the price can come down??? Just an idea for those of you that have not signed up because you can not commit to what time you will be at home. So lets keep on sharing ideas and solutions for a cleaner Dahab........

i live near flower shop on the street next to mirage village
http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=28.501527,34.517278&z=18
the above street, sorry i have no idea about it's name
seems like the street is totally ignored by the hemaya track for days, bags with trash can be seen near every door staying there for long time
today i have cleaned the small corner where i live from the garbage that was brought with the wind, i have collected 4 big bags (50liters each)
can i call for some service to take it away?

The wheelie bin is a nice idea for cleanliness. Thinking of aestheics does anyone know a carpenter that could build say 1m by 1m flip top wooden bins. Say with the sides and lid of that wooden lattice that alot of people use to hide their water pumps ( a strong enough and small enough woven one to keep the goats out). You then have a sustainable and biodegradble bin and venitilated to reduce smells. Any one know where they could get a job lot price from if there is enough interest? For residents in Asala you could have a small wooden trough on the side for goat feed waste!
